Spencer, I’m saying this with the least amount of pressure and barely any threatening quality, but I’ve decided you’ll get your own bookshelf rather than your own section in a bookshelf so with that, I also decided you’ll have to publish enough books to fill said bookshelf. Easy peasy.
Your talent for horror is just through the roof and half my substack screentime is literally your writing.
This post here is no difference, I’ll be coming back to read this multiple times. Wish my CPTSD would give me some worse memory issues than I usually have, so I can read it again with a fresh pair of eyes
I don't even know where to start with this. I am not blowing smoke when I say this was masterful. Tone, word choice, pacing, twists, everything. I couldn't add or take a single thing from this without robbing it of it's putrid eldritch soul. I felt this physically and emotional and the horror only grew exponentially as things developed.
Well wasn't that just horrible. In the best possible way of course. I loved your descriptions and how Desmond felt throughout, really felt like he was pushed over the edge by this 'emergence'. Great story, almost leaves me wanting more.
I love how there's a play button so ai can read this bc when i read smth i instantly get bored if the story doesn't seem interesting but with someone else doing the work for me? It js gives me this excitement for some reason 🤷🏾♀️
Aaagh! Aaagh! I can’t form words, only screams of horror! Poor, poor Private Desmond…his experience was horrifying, cruel, and viscerally repugnant. You captured it to perfection!
😱 My skin is crawling with chills! The powerless of his situation was so well done! One of those stories where I felt I was the character and that made it all the more horrific!

I really liked it 👍
Eerie and vile, just the way I like it.

Your bio says body horror and yet the yuck still shocked me... In that way, a great intro to your writing for a new reader (me)
Just brutal. Excellent and disturbing. Had me squirming to the very end. 👏
That's skin-crawlingly great! the image of the things erupting is burning behind my eyelids. superb stuff! we demand more!
This was delightfully terrifying. Love the ending, love the cycle.
Groossssss. Well done
I lovee the last line. So, so haunting.
I could feel Desmond’s desperation and terror. The room felt claustrophobic, suffocating. Visceral, impactful words.

Honestly I don’t know I insist on reading your writing. I have only myself to blame. Brb while I go claw my brain out along with my eyes
while this is undoubtedly my goal. I feel like I'm scaring you permanently at this point haha.
I think you might be right 😅 but I wouldn’t have it any other way 💚
